Rebooting with Animals ~ Step 1 of The Journey

Healing is a journey. If you’re here you either know you need healing or your animal needs healing. Honestly, you both do.

Did you know that a lot of the time when an animal is stressed it’s feeding off of us? This can work in reverse too. So, healing is a two way street. What’s important is that we make both lanes run smoothly. Easier said than done!

It sounds worse than it is. We’re going to take this journey in baby steps. Most of us don’t have a lot of times so this allows us to fit it into our schedules.

First you have to have an open mind. Some of the exercises may seem silly and you’ll ask “How is that going to benefit either of us?” But, if you stick with it believing there will be end results, over time you’ll see a change in both of you. Most of the time big changes. We’re so used to living stressed and other self caused aliments they’ve become normal to us.

For Step 1 of this journey I want you to take five minutes and follow the simple steps below:

  1. Find a quiet spot and sit or lay down
  2. Close your eyes and allow yourself to breathe in and out slowly.
  3. Put your focus on the breathing.
  4. Thoughts will come into your head sometimes, if they do tell yourself I’ll deal with them later.
  5. Let the thoughts flow out (this may take practice as we’re not used to truly relaxing.)
  6. At the end of the five minutes or longer if you like tell yourself “I deserve to do this time daily.”

So, not you may ask “How does this have anything to do with healing with animals? To open yourself up so they can help you or you can help them. You have to calm yourself and set aside all the problems of your world. Just like a runner prepares themselves for a race you have to prepare yourself to reboot.

Homework

Do the above daily. Take that five minutes, you deserve it!
